A Note From the Owner:
Thanks for having a look around!
I started Singlesaints.com back in 1999 with this crazy notion that I could build a website for LDS singles all by myself -- design, program, manage, troubleshoot, advertise, etc.
I was mistaken.
Singlesaints has only survived because of the efforts of folks who love it here -- moderators who keep the public forums more amiable, people who link to us from other sites or tell their friends, and the hordes of intelligent monkeys I enslaved to write the software that runs the site. (Like Singlesaints? Hug a monkey today.)
From Day One, Singlesaints.com has been dedicated specifically to young LDS singles. But now there are new features for the college-age Latter-day Saint adult. Make your profile into a soapbox, a journal, or just the number one place for others to learn about you. With literally thousands of profiles to search, I'm confident that you'll find some fun folks who share your interests.
"But wait, Randy," you ask, rudely interrupting. "Why is it free?"
Well, that's a good question. I could go on and on about my altruism, my desire to make the world a better place by helping build righteous families, or my own touching story about how I promised to Pay it Forward when somebody sucked the poison out of my armpit after a snake bit me on my mission.
But I shall not. The truth is that I want this community to grow, and the cost -- at least to date -- has not been so prohibitive that I need to charge for it. I have charged in the past, when my wallet was tight, and I may someday in the future, but for now we're totally free. Ad revenue from the banners you see on the site pays part of the hosting bill, and I'm thinking about implementing a fee if you end up marrying somebody you met on the site. I'm not sure if that's within my legal rights, but it's only fair, right? [And now, for those who don't recognize sarcasm in print form, a smiley] :)
Enjoy your days as an LDS single adult. It's good exercise for enjoying your days when you're married.
Sincerely, (except for that sarcastic part, and the bit about the monkeys)
